The Alder Hey diabetes team is actively involved in research into improving the care and treatment of diabetes.

Each project is slightly different – some involve devices such as insulin pumps and pens or glucose sensors; others involve questionnaires to assess how we can support you with your diabetes management. If you decide to participate in a project it will be explained to you fully before you start.

PUGS	The study aims to evaluate the accuracy of the existing Freestyle Libre device when its use is extended from 14 to 21 days. CLOuD project	This study aims to find out if Closed Loop technology (using a pump and sensor to automatically adjust insulin doses) can preserve the function of insulin producing cells in young people who have recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes better than multiple daily injections. Kết quả xổ số MBWe are hoping to find out if Closed Loop therapy could be considered as a standard treatment in the future by comparing results from the Closed Loop system to results from usual therapy.	Active	Kết quả xổ số MBUp to 100 young people aged from 10-16 years old will be included in the trial. Half of the young people enrolled in the study will use Closed Loop technology, and half will continue with multiple daily injections. ADDRESS 2	Kết quả xổ số MBThis project is designed to look at the characteristics of people newly diagnosed with type 1 with diabetes in the UK. It involves collecting information about their diabetes, and also agreeing to be contacted about other opportunities to take part in type 1 diabetes research. AWARD-PEDS (H9X-MC-GBGC)	Kết quả xổ số MBThis study is looking at the benefit of once weekly Dulaglutide for children with Type 2 Diabetes. Kết quả xổ số MBThe study lasts for one year and uses a double blind crossover design. Some patients will receive a placebo medication and then swap onto the study medication after 6 months.	Active	Type 2 diabetes with inadequate control despite dietary and exercise advice. Kết quả xổ số MBAged 10-18 years old. TRIAL NET	This study gives the opportunities for our patients and their relatives to be part of an international trial working towards prevention of type1 diabetes in high risk individuals using oral insulin.
